Letting go of negativity can be a very difficult and lifelong process. We’re raised in a negative and stress-filled world, so I guess you could say negativity has imprinted itself upon our brains. Is it any wonder that negativity easily becomes a part of our daily lives? At first, actively letting go of negativity will seem like a constant process every day. Eventually, though, you will change your outlook and not entertain negativity. After all, you were trained to think negatively, so it stands to reason you can be untrained!

I’m not saying letting go of negativity means that you have to be delusional and out of teach with reality. Rather, try to find a “silver lining in every cloud.” Try to find something positive in every situation and focus on that. Be grateful for it. By doing so, it’s like shining a bright spotlight into the dark, letting that light permeate and dissipate the darkness.

One way of helping you let go of negativity is to picture the delete button on your keyboard. Whenever you have a negative thought, press that delete button in your mind. Then let the thought be deleted. Replace it with a positive thought. This will take a lot of practice and diligence on your part, but it can be done. Soon your mind will be trained that as soon as you have a negative thought, you’ll immediately think of a positive one. Retraining your thought patterns is one of the key elements to letting go of negativity. When you let go of negativity, you are then open to the infinite positive possibilities in your future.

Picture that delete button. Remember to press it as you practice letting go of negativity.
