Now that a new year is upon us, it’s time to make a fresh start. Don’t let this year be the same as last. Make this a year of opportunity by using the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction isn’t some hocus pocus psycho-babble; it is a proven belief pattern that has been utilized by successful people throughout the ages. Today, science is discovering that the way we think shapes our reality; our beliefs and attitudes make impressions upon our brains. These impressions, in turn, cause “ruts” or patterns which dictate how we view life: do we expect abundance, or do we expect scarcity? Do we see events as opportunities, or do we discount them altogether, missing yet another opportunity/chance?
Granted, it’s easy to keep traveling along in our well worn patterns or ruts. They’re the paths of least resistance, and to break out of them and create new patterns is scary and difficult. As they say, better the devil you know than the one you don’t. However, making new paths that will lead to realizing your dreams is worth the effort. Why stay in self-defeating patterns? They only lead to a life of regret.
By using the Law of Attraction, you will create new patterns that are not ruts; they’ll lead to opportunities to break free. You need to be open to the belief that you can attract what you most want – be it prosperity, contentment, better health, a better job, or a better relationship. By thinking and believing in the Law of Attraction, opportunities will surround you.
Like all New Year’s resolutions, incorporating the Law of Attraction into your daily life won’t be easy. You’ll have to learn a whole new way of thinking – a way of thinking that will manifest what you most desire. Are you ready?
Opportunity is going to knock on your door in 2010. Will you hear it? And will you get out of your rut and answer?

The universe is constantly moving. It is constantly doing things with or without your consent. Stock markets collapse, people get promoted, people get fired. The world spins madly on. It may all look like chaos, it may look like a mess, but the fact is that there is a pattern; we are just too small to see it.
Life gives you a choice, you can either roll with the punches or you can stand up for yourself and fight. We lose so many opportunities because we don’t have the courage to seize them. We are afraid of failure and we are even afraid of our own greatness, so we sit back and let opportunity pass us by. We could have had a great love with our first crush, we could have gotten that big promotion in the office, but we don’t, because we never asked. We never asked our crush how they felt, we never asked our superiors to consider us for a higher position or we never turned that idea into a business.
Then we complain. We never got what we feel we deserved. We never got what we didn’t ask for, what we didn’t fight for. Of course we don’t put it in those words. We say that life is unfair, that we are undervalued, that we are unlucky.
I believe that life isn’t something that just happens to us. We make our lives what they are by our actions and our inactions. We are the ones to blame. We are not puppets dancing to the beat of a puppet master. We are individuals capable of shaping our own destinies. We are responsible for our own choices.
If your life is not what you want it to be, then that is because you aren’t surrendering and doing enough. It’s easy to place blame on external factors. That is our coping mechanism. The truth is that we don’t have the things we want, simply because we never asked.

A lot of people think black cats are unlucky. There is a popular belief that says a rabbit’s foot brings good luck. You should never open an umbrella inside the house and a three leaf clover is a sign a good fortune. I couldn’t help but wonder, why a rabbit’s foot? Why not a rabbit’s tail? Or ear? Why not a mongoose’s foot? Why is it ok to wear a raincoat inside the house but it’s not okay to open an umbrella?
Is there any truth to these beliefs? If yes, what gave these objects their power? How come a rabbit’s foot is lucky, but a mongoose’s foot is just a foot? What makes these objects special? Do they have some intrinsic power? Or is it that they are special because we believe they are. Do black cats really bring bad luck? Or is that bad things sometimes just happen and we blame them on the cat?
We associate feelings to everything in the world around us. We have convinced ourselves that cockroaches are disgusting. The scientific fact is that they are the cleanest insect alive. We associate fear and disgust with a cockroach. The cockroach itself is just a cockroach. Just like a foot is just a foot, we are the ones who believe it is lucky.
If holding on to a rabbit’s foot gives a person peace of mind, if it makes them feel a little more confident, does it matter if their belief is false? Is there something wrong with associating good feelings to an object to make your self feel better? Is it really such a bad thing to believe in something ridiculous if it eases your anxiety? No it isn’t. There is no harm in having beliefs, just remember that life is only as good, or bad as you think it is.

The wind leaves a mark on the rocks that it passes over. It gives them shape and form. A tire leaves tracks on the ground it rolls over. The passing sun makes an impression on the world that passes below it. It marks the earth with both heat and shade. The people we meet shape us like the wind; they leave impressions and they mark us with both their love and their hate.
People leave footprints on our hearts. We remember the first time we were hugged, the first time we were scolded, the first time we fell in love and the first time we fought; each memory a different print left by a different person. These memories are what define who we are. They are the lens through which we see the world. It is the memory of getting burnt that reminds us to stay away from fire.
If any of these experiences were to change, we would not be the people we are today. If we had been scolded instead of hugged, if we had been rewarded instead of punished on any occasion; the lessons we took away from that moment would have been very different. Consequently we would be very different.
Some of these prints are seared into us. Feelings we will never forget. Others are like footprints in the sand. The tides of time wash them away. It is important to hold on to these memories, and more importantly, the feelings associated with these memories. It is only when we forget our childhood experiences that we truly become old.
The secret to eternal youth is not in the discovery of some obscure fountain. Eternal youth lies in the heart that has not lost the prints of its childhood feet.
Believing and the Law of Attraction go hand in hand. You have to believe you’ll get what you desire most in order to manifest, on the physical plane, those things you want and those goals you want to accomplish. Unfortunately, many of us have grown up surrounded by a lot of disbelief. We internalize this negativity, which blinds us to the infinite possibilities in front of us. We are literally stiff and crippled by the beliefs that have been handed down to us.
To break free, we need to stretch our minds, much like we stretch our bodies when we do yoga. Stretch our minds to believe that we can get what we want, believing that we deserve the good things in life.
What is the one thing you want more than anything? Concentrate on that. Stretch your mind to encompass actually having that which you want. See it. Feel it. Breathe it in and believe. Stretch your mind and believe you have it. Practice this whenever you think of what you want, but make sure you envision yourself having that which you desire. By believing and using the Law of Attraction, you will generate a positive attitude. Believing is one of the steps in achieving what you desire most in life.
Speak to yourself as if you already have what you desire. In this way, you are kind of tricking your body into believing you really do have it. Once you have such positive belief patterns established in your life, you’ll start attracting other positives – be it positive people or positive events. Being surrounded by positives will attract even more positives into your life. You will then achieve what you’ve desired all along.
Believing and the Law of Attraction means stretching your mind and encompassing the possibilities. Believe and achieve.

I have an aunt. Whenever she pours something she says, “Say ‘when’.” Of course I never reply, she just stops pouring when the glass gets full. She’s my aunt, she likes me, and she knows when it’s time to stop, even if I don’t say it. I sometimes wonder, what would happen if she didn’t stop? Would the liquid keep pouring? Would it spill on the table or would she place a new glass under it? Would the jug ever just, run out?
Bad things happen in life, to everyone. The universe can be quite nasty. It will knock you down and then, kick you when you’re down. It doesn’t stop. Most of us can’t survive the onslaught long enough for the jug to run out. Those of us that do start to wonder why we even bothered to hold on.
At such times, it’s best to just say it. Just say when. Only you can. Only you can make it stop. The universe will listen to those who speak up. If you’re having a bad time, say when and the universe will stop pouring trouble your way. Ask for better and you’ll get it.
Then there are the times when we don’t want it to stop. When the universe is good, oh, it can be so good. Then we want it all. Even after we have it all, we want more. At such times, enough is never enough. Keep asking for more and the jug won’t run out, at least not at a time when you’re around to notice.
Say when. Sometimes you need to stand up and say that you have reached the brink. Sometimes, you have to take action if you expect a change. Then there are the times you wish nothing would change. The glass is bottomless. If you want something and like something, go after it, or at the very least ask for it. The universe is listening.
I’m sitting in my car sending an E-Mail to a potential client in France. Just as I press the ‘send’ button on my iphone, I see something, a big red post box. The sight makes me smile. I can’t remember the last time I used one. As I pass by it, I can’t help but wonder what it was like before, before E-Mail, Internet or modern transport.
Imagine the merchants of days gone by. The delivery of cargo, back then, was an enterprise in itself. The merchant would hire two or three caravans. One would hold the cargo, the other would be for the guards, and the third would carry the provisions required by the entire party. They would battle the elements on the way to their destination. Halfway there, they would be attacked by bandits. They would choose between fight and flight. Depending on the outcome of the skirmish, either a tired and smaller party would arrive to finish the delivery or the cargo would be lost forever.
Today all you need to do is call FedEx. Technology has come so far. There are so many wonders, science has provided. It is thanks, to this technological progress, that we live in a truly global economy. There are so many tools available to the modern business man, yet there are so many who will still insist on using papyrus rolls to send a message. Okay, so maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it is a fact that a large number of businessmen/women are still blithely unaware of the advancements in technology.
It is very important that entrepreneurs take the time to research the technologies that are relevant to their business activity. There is so much that technology can do that it is important to make sure we are putting it to the best use.

There has been a lot of discussion and in recent times about ‘The Law of Attraction’, and similar new age thought. But there are so many terms bandied about that there seems to be a lack of actual understanding of the law itself. There is not much awareness regarding how one can actually implement this law in day to day life. The very nature of new age thought means that it cannot be formatted into a step by step procedure. It is personal in nature and requires individual interpretation. Nonetheless some aspects remain common for all. With the help of these we can formulate a few rough guidelines that can be followed to get started with this fantastic law. The rest you have to learn from trial and error. You can give a fisherman all the tools he may need but it is up to him to bait the line and bring in the fish. With each trip he makes out to sea, he will get more skilful and wise in his craft.
In the same way, you have already been given the tools you need to get started with using the ‘Law of Attraction’. All you really need is the power of your mind. The ‘Law of Attraction’ states that like attracts like. By thinking of what you want you can attract it into your life. There are many methods one can follow to accomplish this. Which method suits you best, is a question only you can answer. But here are some basic guidelines that you may find helpful. First decide what you want. Then give it all of your attention, energy and focus. Make sure you stay away from negative thoughts, by avoiding words like ‘No’, ‘Not’ and ‘Dont’, when you find yourself thinking ‘I don’t want this’ immediately ask yourself ‘so, what do I want?’. Stick to these simple steps and before you know it every day will feel like Christmas.

Have you ever done something without having any persuasive reason for doing it? Talked to a stranger not because they were good looking or smelt fantastic, but for no reason at all? Stayed away from a place not because it looked dangerous or had a bad reputation but because you had a feeling? Have you ever used the phrase ‘I just had this vibe.’? I’m sure the majority of us would answer that question with a ‘yes’. The reason for this is, whether we are conscious of it or not, most of us are aware of the fabric of the universe that connects all the things in it to one another. We are all part of the same field of energy and we communicate with everything through this energy with the help of vibrations. Even if we are not conscious of this communication it is continuous and carried out with or without our approval. Having a feeling or a vibe about something is nothing more than our conscious mind picking up on a message being sent to us by an energy field in our surrounding. Some people refer to this as intuition others a lucky guess. But a rose with any other name would still smell as sweet. The accuracy of these feelings can be disconcertingly correct.
More often than anything we pick up ‘vibes’ from people. This is because people are always sending out vibrations into the universe. They may be good or bad. It is important that we train ourselves to pick up on these and be careful about the vibrations we send out into our surroundings, because what you attract depends on how you vibrate. If you are able to understand the vibrations coming from people you will be able to understand their motives as well. Remember the next time you say, ‘I just got this vibe’ your not talking about some abstract emotion but an actual ‘vibration’.

It is a well known fact that moth’s are attracted to light. What is it that draws these creatures to any form of luminescence, even if it means fiery annihilation? It is the warmth and the security offered by the flame that pulls a moth to it. If the things that you want are moths, then you need to be the flame. By thinking about the things that you want and believing that you have them, you can attract the things you want into your life.
The power of your mind can bring about profound changes in the world around you. By thinking positively you can affect the fabric of the universe, and attract the things you want into your life. All you need to do is imagine that you already posses the things that you desire and this will pull them towards you. After all ‘nirvana’ is only found by those who seek it. If you want something you have to believe that you will get it and then work towards fulfilling your desires. You cannot win a battle if you think you’ve already lost. It is the belief in victory that helps you attain it. So it’s time that you became the shining light that will illuminate your life and bring to you all that you desire. Always remember that just like you are what you eat, your life is what you think. So it’s up to you to make sure that your thoughts reflect the life you want. There is no limit to the things you can accomplish simply by believing that they are already accomplished. As my favorite quote from one of my favorite movie goes, ‘When its dark all you need to do, is turn on the light!’
